Active Shooter Response training

for churches

Our Program

Our Training Program consists of three modules. The modules are “Active Threat Seminar”, “Unarmed Response” and “Armed Response”. As you progress through the modules, the intensity of the training increases and the number of participants will decrease.

Active Threat Seminar

We designed the Active Threat Seminar to create awareness of active shooter events, both historical and recent. It introduces and discusses what it means to have a survivor’s mindset and to understand the need for situational awareness. It is a relaxed session and generally for a larger or more broad audience than just your safety team.

Safety Team Unarmed Response

The Unarmed Response Module consists of two sections. In the first section, the focus is on prevention, avoidance, and de-escalation. Challenging situations can often be managed and resolved through understanding and training, good listening and communication skills, and the desire to help people during tough times.

In the second section of Unarmed Response, we explore Run-Hide-Fight as an option. It is not as simple as watching a video and believing “we’re ready.” In this section, we do practical hands-on scenarios breaking down all Run, Hide, and Fight elements.

This module is an interactive session for your safety team members, ushers, greeters, and volunteers up to a maximum of 24 participants. The stress level is moderate.

Safety Team Armed Response

This module is for current or potential safety team members who can carry firearms at your facility during events or services.

The module is an intense scenario-based training using non-lethal training firearms (NLTF) and non-lethal training ammunition (NLTA)when applicable. We conduct all training using Advanced Safety Protocols, including metal detection screening and pat-down searches of all participants in attendance, including our instructional staff. It also includes the inspection of purses, backpacks, bags, and cases.

Participants are placed into scenarios to evaluate their decision-making abilities, firearms handling, manipulation, and accuracy skills. The stress level is moderate to high with a 24-person max attendance.

Range Qualifier – Live Fire

Unfortunately, owning/carrying a firearm is not synonymous with being skilled with a firearm. Our range qualification is uniquely designed around four key components, Mechanics, Accuracy, Safety, and Time (MAST), and is definitively for individuals who understand and are proficient with their firearm!

Participants must use the firearm they carry and have all the necessary safety equipment, including a proper holster. Additionally, participants will need 50 rounds of factory-produced ammunition

(no reloaded ammo is allowed)

The stress level of this qualifier is moderate to high, as the participants will be required to handle, manipulate, and shoot their firearms safely and accurately within time limits. Participants must know, understand, and live by the four rules of firearm safety. Any safety violations will result in the participant’s immediate disqualification and removal from the range. The number of participants is a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12.

The “Range Qualification” is a two-hour block session, but actual times may vary depending on experience level and range requirements. Annual or biannual qualification is recommended.

*Range fees not included.

What do we need from your church?
First, a 6-Week Advance Scheduling Requirement
To ensure we can fit your team into our schedule, we ask for a 6-week notice when booking your training. If you have an urgent need, please contact us, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Second, your Commitment to Program Completion
It’s important to complete the training within four weeks of starting. The modules increase in intensity, and finishing them within a short timeframe helps participants retain the information. Module 1 lasts 2 hours, while Modules 2 and 3 are each 8 hours long. We offer flexible scheduling to meet your church’s availability.

Finally, we provide Post-Training Documentation

After the training, your church will receive an Individual Assessment on each of your safety team members along with a Final Report, which provides:
  • A confidential assessment of each team member’s strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Feedback on your team’s overall readiness and recommendations for future training.

We are available for ongoing training as your church’s safety needs continue to evolve.
